THE BEATLES' songwriter John Lennon had left the United Kingdom ten years before his death, and settled down in New York with his wife Yoko Ono. According to a newly uncovered letter, the night before his murder Lennon was "bubbling with excitement" over returning to his home country for the first time in a decade.
